Blast (Magnaporthe grisea) is a major threat that jeopardizes the yield quantity and quality of rice worldwide. To elucidate the molecular and genetic basis for blast resistance phenotype, we deploy stat-of-the-art technologies, such as Next Generation Sequencing (genomics), high resolution tamden mass spectrometry (proteomics, metabolomics), bioinformatic tools and CRISPR Cas9 mutation system to study rice varieties. Finally, we hope to provide tools and databases, or even novel biomarkers to facilitate modern breeding for the blast resistant rice breeders.
